Chapter 5 is out HERE (Nifty) and HERE (Literotica)
The steady pace continues (or resumes, I suppose)
So, I'm no longer quite sure how I'm doing, in regards to my schedule. I think there were roughly 11-12 days between my last two story releases, and I'm hoping there will only be 8-9 by the time these chapters are properly out on Nifty and Literotica. So I think that's sort of okay.
Editing is annoyingly time-consuming, because I sort of need time to reflect between edits. I've streamlined my process a bit, but that only tends to result in me having more time for other projects, rather than being able to edit faster - which is what I would have wanted.
But that waiting period seems to be important, for whatever reason, so for now there's little I can do to speed up the tempo of my releases. My immediate goal is to get disciplined enough to avoid any delays in my editing process, which I think I've done pretty well at this week.
I've still been working on that short story that was one of the things that delayed the last chapter, although I think I've worked it better into my schedule this cycle (and have hopefully learned my lesson about that sort of thing) so it's all going pretty well.
Even if it doesn't get accepted where I'm aiming it, it gives me something to start bouncing around in the world of short stories (which is a whole big thing I wasn't really properly aware of) and maybe it'll stick somewhere. We'll see.
But yeah, here is Chapter 5. It's a little low on action - at least the sort people care about. I'll try to release Chapter 6 as quickly as I can to make up for that. Hopefully it does. I'll discuss why I'm pretty nervous about it in the accompanying blog post.
Notes on Differences: (OMY vs. AD)
So this, I think, sort of replaces the Chapter 4 from AD and dips into Chapter 5 a bit too. Chapter 6 will be Eric and Jay's big date, which happens in AD Chapter 5, but I shan't talk about that now. It'll be very different, regardless.
This chapter was just to establish some friend-characters and flesh out the relationships, and to give Ellie some space to PERFORM. As far as she's concerned, this story is about her, really.
But it was nice to introduce Angela, Sue and Louis properly, because in the final year of high school, you can bet the nerds are going to band together.
